Proteas aren't difficult. They're misunderstood. Come and see how it's really done.

Spend 90 hands-on minutes learning to grow proteas properly, with the growers behind the book Proteas Explained. This is the morning session of our very first masterclass, live at St Anne's Winery in Myrniong.

When: Sunday, 12 July 2026 from 11.30am to 1pm
Where: St Anne's Winery, 64 Garrards Lane, Myrniong
Group size: Limited numbers available

Your ticket includes:

The full 90-minute masterclass, part teaching, part live demonstration, part hands-on workshop.

A copy of Proteas Explained, our 240-page guide, yours to keep.

A protea to take home.

A cellar-door wine tasting.

Open Q&A with people who grow these plants for a living.

A special rate on extra plants and books on the day.

What we'll cover: We work through the whole story, start to finish. Where proteas come from and what they need, choosing and planting, growing in pots, pruning for shape and for flowers, reading your plant and fixing problems early, then growing your own from seed and cuttings. You'll leave knowing how to grow them well, in the ground or in a pot.

Lunch isn't included. The restaurant is open all day, so book a table and make an afternoon of it.
